How do I create users when SSO is enabled?

When using SSO, there are two options for user account creation. New accounts will either need to be pre-created, or automatically created upon authentication.

Option 1: Automatic User Provisioning via SSO

A new user's account will be automatically created upon first login with basic permissions. 

  1. Log in via SSO.
  2. If no existing account is found, Edgescan automatically creates one with basic permissions.
  3. A superuser can later review and adjust permissions as needed.

Option 2: Pre-existing Account in edgescan

Before a new user can sign in via SSO, an account must be created in Edgescan. The email associated with the account must correspond to the credentials in the identity provider.

  1. Log in via SSO.
  2. If a matching Edgescan account exists, access is granted.
  3. If no match is found, access is denied.
