Definition of a Microservice

A Microservice is a standalone component of an application or API. Components may be independently deployable, organised by business capability and may be maintained by different business units.

Definition of an API

An API is a machine readable function that allows the exchange of data between two or more points typically via HTTP available in a RESTful format.

Each API is separated by domain, functionality, level of authentication and type.

Edgescan licenses web APIs by domain with up to two levels of authentication available per license.
