What are the mandatory notifications & how can I change them?

Edgescan has a set of notifications that are turned on for all users. These notifications are available in the Events page, and are built so you can subscribe or un-subscribe to them as you require.

Other than subscribable events, scheduled reports/exports, and user specific events such as confirming your email address or resetting your password, there are also mandatory, hard-coded event notifications that may be sent out in certain situations. Below we will detail the notification type, when it occurs, who will receive it, and what it means.

 

NOTE: If any of the point of contact groups (Asset owners, Technical points of contact, Assessment notifiers) are being notified for a particular asset and that asset does not have contacts defined, then it will default to the organisation's point of contact groups.

Asset Blocked

When: A manual asset blocker is created.
Who: The security team will select one or multiple of: Asset owners, Technical points of contact, Assessment notifiers, to be notified depending on the blocker reason.
What: The security team will provide details on reason of the blocker, and how to resolve it.

Asset Verified Blocked

When: A manual asset blocker has been verified
Who: The security team will select one or multiple of: Asset owners, Technical points of contact, Assessment notifiers, to be notified depending on the blocker reason.
What: 
The security team will provide details on reason of the blocker, and how to resolve it.

Asset Blocker Resolved

When: A manual asset blocker has been resolved.
Who: The security team will select one or multiple of: Asset owners, Technical points of contact, Assessment notifiers, to be notified depending on the blocker reason.
What: A notification confirming that the asset blocker has been resolved.

Blocked Assets Report

When: On the first Monday of every month.
Who: The organization's Asset owners and Technical points of contact.
What: A report detailing the organization's blocked assets.

Assessment Retest Request

When: An assessment retest has been requested.
Who: The user who requested the retest.
What: Notifies the user that they have requested a retest on an asset.

Scan Paused for Targeting

When: A scan has been paused for targeting.
Who: If a user toggled targeting mode, then they will be notified. Asset owners and Technical points of contact will also be notified if the scan has been paused for over 3 days.
What: Scan has been paused for targetting, and will not continue until a user chooses to proceed on the scope configuration page.
