What is an Asset’s status?
An Asset’s status shows the current state of the asset. The status shown will depend on a number of factors such as onboarding status, scanning state, and blocked status. The following is a description of each possible status:

Automated scanning: Automated scanning is currently taking place.

Manual scanning / validating: Our analysts are validating the findings from the assessment.

Onboarding: The asset has been newly created and our analysts are setting up the configuration for scanning. No scanning is currently taking place, the status will change when the first assessment begins

Waiting: Waiting for scanning window to open.

Paused: Scanning has been manually paused.

Blocked: The asset is currently flagged as blocked and edgescan™ is currently unable to scan it.

Idle: No assessment is currently taking place.

Staged: The asset has been newly created but has not been sent to our analysts to set up and start scanning. Navigate to the scanning schedule on the asset page and select start to proceed to onboarding

Verifying unblocked: Our analysts are verifying that the asset is accessible after being previously blocked.

Disabled: This asset and all of its services have been disabled. No scanning can be done on this asset until it is re-enabled. This can be done in the asset configuration panel on the asset details page

The status of an asset can be found in a number of places.

Hovering over the status will display a tooltip with a description of the status.
