What Happens When I Have An Overage On My Internal Host Licences?
Internal licences in based on live IPs, it is not uncommon for firewalls or network devices to cause this number to be inflated. We need to be added to an access list on your internal devices so that scanning can continue with no unnecessary restrictions.

In Edgescan if you have a firewall/IDS or some other network device interfering with your internal network traffic, it can cause your licences to be used faster than you expect.
If your firewall is configured to respond that there are more IPs/Hosts alive than are actually alive, this includes ports responding back as filtered, Edgescan will assume they are alive and will automatically add the IPs/Hosts to any ongoing assessments.
Edgescan JumpBox source IPs must be added to allowlists in your internal firewall/IDS devices to avoid assessments getting blocked.
Each IP/Host that is included in an assessment counts against the licence allocation. You can see if you are impacted by navigating to the licence page and seeing your available licence allocation.
Once we reach the purchased allocation the Edgescan sales team will get in touch with you and let you know that you are required to purchase more licences, or configure your internal systems to only present live IPs/Hosts to Edgescan.
